It's the day that locals have dreaded since Sept. 28, which was the last day of operation for the Mexican Cafe on Bay Ridge Road. The building was knocked down the morning of Oct. 15, making drivers slow as they passed and causing some to pull over and take photos. The opening date for the new Mexican Cafe location at 609 Melvin Ave. in West Annapolis has not been formally announced. Owner Pam Gladfelter previously told Greater Annapolis Patch that the new restaurant will likely open in November. In the meantime, the Mexican Cafe TO GO location remains open for business.

Today is the last day the Mexican Cafe will receive customers at its Bay Ridge Road location — thank goodness it's also Taco Tuesday so you can get tacos for as little as a $1.50. It looks like it might clear up and be a nice afternoon and evening to spend on the deck one last time.
