St. Martin’s Pumpkin Patch Ushers in Fall
Hundreds came out to pick their pumpkins and support the Light House Shelter.
A sunny, temperate day set the scene on Saturday when The Friends of the Annapolis Light House Shelter kicked off its Ninth Annual Pumpkin Patch. The three-week event, which runs daily through Oct. 31, is being held on the lawn of St. Martin's Lutheran Church on Spa Road in Annapolis. Proceeds from the sale benefit the Light House Shelter, a program of Annapolis Area Ministries, Inc., which provides shelter and guidance to people in need. Friends of the Light House Shelter's Committee Chair, Lou Shapiro says, "Our 10-year goal has been to raise $8.7 million dollars for the new shelter, to triple (at least) the number of residents the Light House is able to house."
