Thanks Dad

This Father's Day, let your dad know he is appreciated.

Dad, I’d like to thank you for the innumerable tanks of gas, my college education, teaching me how to jitterbug and properly crack open a steamed crab. Thank you for your understanding, your patience, your sense of humor and your cheeseburgers on summer nights.  My father makes a good burger. He molds the ground beef with the sort of precision I imagine Michelangelo employed in his art. He makes it one way—still pink in the middle. This is the way my mother likes her burger. As much as dad likes to light up the grill, each dad deserves a day for someone else to light up the coals and watch the meat cook.
