PHOTO: The Westin Annapolis in Gingerbread

A replica of the downtown hotel is on display in the lobby.

My wife and I came across a gingerbread replica of the Westin Annapolis as we were cutting through the lobby recently on our way to Fado Irish Pub. The large gingerbread house version of the upscale hotel took up a decent section of the lobby. A worker there told us the hotel's culinary team tediously replicated the building with gingerbread and candy for about a week. He said they worked from architectural blueprints of the actual building. If you get a chance to check it out, it's quite the scene. Also, if you're into gingerbread recreations, workers at the county courthouse had several interesting creations for a holiday competition.
