Car Stolen Off Market Space in Downtown Annapolis

Police say a woman's 2009 Acura was stolen from its parking space near McGarvey's restaurant.

An Annapolis woman had her 2009 Acura stolen from a parking spot on Market Space, according to Annapolis police. The woman told police she parked the car, valued at $32,000, near McGarvey's restaurant on Saturday night. According to the police report, she took a cab home and didn't return to pick up her car until Monday around 9 p.m. She told police she initially checked the area and called both J.P. Towing and parking enforcement to make sure her car wasn't towed. The Acura is dark gray, has four doors and a USNA sticker on the driver's side front window.

Porsche Stolen While Owner Out of Country

The red Porsche was parked in front of a home on Bank Street in Annapolis.

A red, 1986 Porsche 911 that was parked in front of a residence in the 900 block of Bank Street was stolen some time during the last month, according to Annapolis police. The car's owner reported the car missing on Thursday, but he told police he has been out of the country for work since Oct. 8. The license plate is 04604Z. The owner told police he still has all the keys to the car, and there were no signs of tampering outside the home.

Annapolis Man Steals Car While Police Arrest Owner

According to a police report, Barry Butler attempted to steal a car while police were in the process of arresting its owner, Howard Durley, on unrelated charges.

City of Annapolis police arrested a man for stealing a car while they tried to arrest its owner. According to a press release, police officers observed Howard Durley, 29, of Annapolis assaulting a woman outside of his Chevrolet Tahoe Monday evening at Juliana Circle at Newtowne Drive, and they moved in to make an arrest. Durley reportedly fled the scene when the officers approached. While Durley was being arrested, Barry Butler, 31, got inside the vehicle—which was still running—and drove off, according to police. Officers attempted to stop Butler and he fled to the 1400 block of Tyler Avenue, where he was arrested. Butler is charged with numerous traffic offenses, first- and second-degree assault, motor vehicle theft and theft between $10…
