ReplyThanks for the heads up...6 days after the fact! I feel so safe that we're being alerted about violent crime in our area, more or less! Let's all be sure to look out for three white 20 year olds, they'll really stand out in this county!

ReplyLet's not paint all undocumented immigrants with the same brush! For all we know, the rest of them aren't murdering pimps. I mean, I guess we have to assume that since they come here under the radar...

ReplyJohn Leopold: male escort. But as a former official, he won't have the luxury of county cops running interference for him this time. Be careful, John!

ReplyMartin O'Malley: "This young man is the future of Maryland, let us give him the path to citizenship, a free college education, the right to marry the man of his choice, the freedom to conduct his entrepreneurial pursuits, without the burden of a death penalty should he choose to murder our innocents. God bless this gentleman, may he and his many cohorts vote for me should I run for President."

On the article POLL: Did Leopold Do the Right Thing by Resigning?

ReplyWhy exactly does a county executive get a special police detail anyway? If there's a pressing need (i.e., a threat of violence) that's one thing. Otherwise, you have these people at your disposal who have nothing to do all day so why wouldn't you be tempted to give them special "assignments"! That's a waste of taxpayer money that should stop immediately. Anyone else agree?

On the article License Plate Thefts Continue in Annapolis

ReplyGreg, that otherwise sounds like a great idea with one exception. Those license plate readers are passive law enforcement devices. Fighting crime requires active work...and one thing the Annapolis Police Department is not is "active." If a criminal walks up to an APD officer's regular booth at Rocco's or Bella Italia and drops the plates in his or her lap, the case MIGHT get solved (even then it's iffy). Otherwise, we can just expect the APD's usual results: "An investigation continues..."

ReplyHey, don't join the Mafia if you're not Italian! HACA is one of many bogus local organizations that we taxpayers are forced to fund. If HACA was closed down right now, there would be absolutely no negative result. Except its staff would have to look for bogus state jobs where you get paid simply for being black. Which isn't difficult in Maryland...

Thank God for (occasional) justice in this county! And Dwyer's being white and Republican certainly didn't help his case: Little chance he could Snowden his way out of this one! :)
