ANNAPOLIS, MD - The owner of Smashing Grapes will temporarily close its Annapolis location and convert the wine bar into a new, reimagined restaurant.

The parent company, Titan Hospitality Group, started renovating Smashing Grapes on Monday. It will reopen this fall as The Lodge, located at 177 Jennifer Road.

The Lodge will be situated across from the Westfield Annapolis mall in the Annapolis Restaurant Park. Cracker Barrel also announced plans in May to build a restaurant in the park, replacing the demolished Fuddruckers. The restaurant park is also home to Red Lobster and Uncle Julio's.

The Lodge is inspired by its sister restaurant The Blackwall Barn & Lodge in Gambrills. The two eateries will share key elements. The Lodge will offer a rustic dining experience with farm freshness.

"The Lodge will provide the area with a renewed approach to dining," Titan CEO James King said this week in a press release. "Soon, the refined community of Annapolis will get to enjoy all of the fresh and local fare The Lodge has to offer."

The Lodge will have an elevated theme with updated indoor and outdoor event spaces adaptable for all-season events.

"The Titan Hospitality Group brand always looks to provide diners with a superior dining experience," King said. "We can’t wait to open The Lodge and add another standout fine dining experience in Anne Arundel County."

After The Lodge debuts in the fourth quarter of this year, Titan will open a new Smashing Grapes location in Columbia in late 2023. That's one of two Titan restaurants opening in Columbia before the year ends.

"This expansion into a new brand is perfectly timed with our other openings occurring in the state like the opening of the second The Blackwall Barn & Lodge in downtown Columbia this September," King said. "2023 continues to be a big year for us."

Headquartered in Crofton, Titan also owns:

  • Blackwall Hitch in Eastport and Alexandria, Virginia
  • Smashing Grapes in Gambrills
  • Titan Catering
