ANNAPOLIS, MD - WBFF reported that Ikea, a Swedish furniture retailer, is opening a 3,200-square-foot store in the Annapolis Harbour Center later this year. Dubbed Ikea Plan & Order, this outpost will not have a full showroom. Customers will instead get ideas, place orders and pick up deliveries from the new location at 2512 A Solomons Island Road.

WBFF said this new style of Ikea is also opening soon in Gaithersburg, Maryland and Fairfax, Virginia. Ikea's website shows that one of these new outposts is already open in Arlington, Virginia. Ikea has full showrooms in White Marsh and College Park.

"We couldn’t be more thrilled to open a third location in Maryland this year and bring the IKEA experience closer to our customers across the bay in the eastern part of the state," Ikea Market Manager Tony Giacona said in a press release, according to WBFF. "While the IKEA Annapolis Plan & Order point with pick-up is different from our traditional IKEA stores, we hope it better meets the needs of our local customers and provides an IKEA experience that’s more accessible, affordable, and sustainable."
