ANNAPOLIS, MD - Two new eateries opened recently at the Westfield Annapolis mall. A third is opening soon.

A Häagen-Dazs ice cream stand is celebrating its grand opening in the middle of the food court Saturday at noon. The first 500 guests will get free mini cups or cones. There will also be scratch-offs to win free ice cream for a year.

The grand opening is this weekend, but Patch first saw the stand open on Oct. 5.

Baba's Halal also opened recently in the food court. Baba's serves everything from gyros and falafel to chicken and fish.

Halal, meaning "permissible" in Arabic, is food allowed under Islamic rules. Located next to Charleys Cheesesteaks, Baba's Halal held its grand opening on Oct. 6

Coming Soon

On the other side of Baba's is California Tortilla, a Mexican eatery coming soon. Patch does not yet know the exact opening date. California Tortilla is known for its burritos and bowls.

A new variety store called Miniso is opening at an unknown date near the food court. Sandwiched between Express and Hot Topic, Miniso will have everything from toys and plushies to electronics and beauty items.

Other Recent Openings, Closings

Pandora recently moved its jewelry store. It was previously located next to Lego near Macy's. Pandora now neighbors Chocolate Moonshine. The old Pandora was closed when Patch visited in early October, and the new location was open when Patch checked on Friday.

Pandora fills the vacancy left by Squishable, a stuffed animal store that closed a few months after opening this spring.

On Aug. 15, Patch saw that Sweet Slice Cakery opened its bakery next to Janie and Jack.

We saw on Aug. 5 that Capital Teas closed its beverage shop next to Mac after less than a year. Capital Teas had been open since November 2022. This was the business's second stint in the mall.

Mind Games, a new board game shop, opened this summer. Patch first saw it open on July 5. It replaced Papaya, a clothing store that closed in April.

Patch also saw that these new businesses had opened during our July 5 mall visit:

  • Blush Nail Bar (Salon next to Braids by Faith)
  • S&S Beauty Par (Piercing studio next to Brow Art 23)

The Original Pancake House opened in late spring. Patch first saw the breakfast restaurant open on June 1. It is located across from California Pizza Kitchen. The Original Pancake House replaced The Brass Tap bar.

Miller's Ale House opened a sports bar and grill in the mall parking lot outside JCPenney on May 15. The property used to be home to Romano's Macaroni Grill, but that restaurant closed and the building was demolished. The Miller's Ale House is brand-new construction.

Waikiki opened a discount women's clothing store next to Zale's this spring, replacing Pottery Barn Kids. We first saw Waikiki open on April 17.
