ANNAPOLIS, MD - A new restaurant held its grand opening last Tuesday in Annapolis.

Dubbed The Lodge, the eatery is a renovation and rebranding of the former wine bar Smashing Grapes. Both restaurant concepts are owned by parent company Titan Hospitality.

The conversion started on July 31, and the dining room was closed until last week.

"We’re so excited to officially be able to invite you to join us," The Lodge said Tuesday on Facebook. "From our kitchen to your table, we're here to create unforgettable memories."

The Lodge is inspired by its sister restaurant The Blackwall Barn & Lodge in Gambrills. The two eateries share key elements.

The Lodge offers a rustic dining experience with farm freshness.

The restaurant centers around a floor-to-ceiling stone hearth and fireplace. Farmhouse decor and a brick accent wall contribute to the ambiance. A photo of the redesigned space is posted here.

"The Lodge will provide the area with a renewed approach to dining," Titan CEO James King said this summer in a press release announcing the restaurant. "The refined community of Annapolis will get to enjoy all of the fresh and local fare The Lodge has to offer."

The Lodge has an elevated theme with updated indoor and outdoor event spaces adaptable for all-season events.

"The Titan Hospitality Group brand always looks to provide diners with a superior dining experience," King said, calling The Lodge a "standout fine dining experience in Anne Arundel County."

The Lodge is situated across from the Westfield Annapolis mall in the Annapolis Restaurant Park.

Cracker Barrel announced plans in May to build a restaurant in the park, replacing the demolished Fuddruckers. The restaurant park is also home to Red Lobster and Uncle Julio's.

Titan Hospitality is continuing to expand.

Titan opened a Columbia location of Blackwall Barn & Lodge in October. It also plans to open a new Smashing Grapes in Columbia by the end of the year.

"This expansion into a new brand is perfectly timed with our other openings occurring in the state like the opening of the second The Blackwall Barn & Lodge in downtown Columbia," King said. "2023 continues to be a big year for us."

Headquartered in Crofton, Titan also owns:

  • Blackwall Hitch in Eastport and Alexandria, Virginia
  • Smashing Grapes in Gambrills
  • Titan Catering
