Anne Arundel Schools Change Snow Decision For Tuesday Classes
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD - All Anne Arundel County Public Schools and offices will be closed Tuesday because of the snow.
There will not be any online classes either. AACPS can move classes online for some weather days, but it said it wouldn't have virtual classes if there were a true snowstorm.
A Code Red is in effect for workers. Unit III staff must report to work as required.
AACPS was originally scheduled to open two hours late on Tuesday, but it switched to a full closure around 7 a.m.
"Today’s closing of schools DOES NOT alter the planned semester break day for Friday, January 19," AACPS said Tuesday on Facebook. "As stipulated in the Board-approved calendar (www.aacps.org/calendar), a closing tomorrow or Thursday may shift the semester break day. At this time, however, the semester break day remains January 19."
It snowed nearly all day Monday and into Tuesday morning in Maryland. Odenton got about 4.5 inches, according to Patch's unofficial measurement around 7 a.m. Tuesday.
